Championing Quality Education for Every Child
Amir Khan
Rooted in Natomas
Over a decade ago, I moved to the Natomas region with hopes of starting a family and putting down roots. As a small business owner, veteran, and former US Army paratrooper and instructor, I possess the dedication and leadership qualities required to guide our district toward excellence. I’m not the type to watch life pass by from the sideline—I am deeply connected to our community.
Education Background
With experiences in public and charter schools, community colleges, and universities in different parts of the globe, I understand the importance of good education and committed educators. I hold a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from California State University, Northridge, and a Master’s in Engineering in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from the Zaragoza Logistics Center in Spain.
Belief in Innovation
As a member of the pioneering cohort at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Supply Chain and Logistics Excellence global hybrid program, I’ve seen the power of innovative initiatives that meet learners on their own terms. Education isn’t one-size-fits-all—it can be transformed to reach students in unique, meaningful ways.
Community Engagement
In my free time, I love helping coach my son’s soccer team, golfing, and riding my motorcycle. I believe in the transformative power of education and actively participate in a scholarship foundation in Kenya to provide opportunities to those in need.
Vision for Natomas
With my passion, vision, and relentless drive, I am committed to being accessible, listening to concerns, and fostering open lines of communication with all stakeholders. By actively engaging with parents, teachers, and community members, I will build trust and ensure that the district’s decisions are reflective of the community’s values and priorities.
